Sinus headaches can be the result of a sinus infection or allergies. Often following a cold or flu, sinus headaches are caused by inflammation of the sinus passages, air cavities located in the bones behind and above your nose. As the sinuses become clogged or infected, the increase pressure causes your head to ache.
Although both the disease have a common symptom of headache but causes of sinus headache and migraine are different. Saturday, July 5th, 2008A sinus headache is a headache that occurs because your sinuses are congested with mucus. The sinuses are hollow spaces in the bones of your face. They connect with the nose through small openings. Like the nose, they are lined with membranes that make mucus. Mucus drains through the small openings to the nose. Some symptoms of a sinus headache include pain or pressure in the forehead or around the eyes and cheek(s), tender skin and tender bones over and under the eyes. Stooping down, jarring your head (including with exercise, such as jogging or aerobics), or blowing your nose may make your headache feel worse.
